Thanks to the DESCAL medium contained in the AQUACALK, the properties of limescale are altered, which after treatment loses its ability to adhere to surfaces and only appears as a fine white powder that can be easily wiped off with a cloth or sponge. Other water softening devices

“Classic” water softeners work on the basis of ion exchange, where calcium and magnesium ions in the water are exchanged for equivalent amounts of sodium ions. When the ion exchanger is depleted, it must be regenerated with a salt solution. For example, regenerating 100 litres of softening resin requires approximately 25 kg of salt per regeneration cycle.

Similarly, AQUACALK can cope with unpleasant limescale deposits in bathrooms, where every drop of water leaves a typical deposit of hard-to-remove minerals after drying. After the water has been treated with AQUACALK, only a thin film of white powder remains in critical areas, which is simply wiped off with a cloth or sponge. Aggressive chemical agents are no longer needed to clean the affected areas and the shower rose will no longer become clogged.

Another advantage is that, unlike water softening, the beneficial calcium and magnesium will remain in the water. The sodium content of the treated water does not increase, which means there is no health risk for people with hypertension or cardiovascular problems.
